Targets the dissemination of improved cookstoves and Solar PV systems for households in off-grid urban, peri-urban and rural areas all over Mozambique.
Productive Use of Energy Window
Targets the dissemination of Solar PV productive use of energy solutions and appliances for commercial businesses in rural areas.
Humanitarian Window
Targets the dissemination of improved cookstoves and Solar PV systems for households that are particularly vulnerable and economically weak.
COVID-PAY Window
A business continuity mechanism for companies that are vulnerable to increased payment defaults, to prevent the insolvency of PAYG companies in Mozambique during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Social Infrastructure Window
Targets the electrification of health care facilities in Mozambique, except urban Maputo, that are electrified by means of solar energy.
Elegibility
Eligible for the RBF Fund are Suppliers and Distributors of decentralized renewable energy technologies and energy solutions for productive use. Implementers can be individual entrepreneurs, companies, associations, cooperatives, partnerships and / or consortia between local and international companies that carry out activities with the aim of selling eligible technologies to final consumers on a commercial basis.
Technologies Supported
Solar Home Systems SHS
- PAYGO SHS Systems
- Appropriate Quality Certification (Lighting Global, other recognised certifications or GIZ approval)
- Type of Battery (all but lead acid battery, Pb and Nickel Cadmium)
- Credible warranty of at least 1 year through a working warranty system;
- Sold or installed to end-consumers on a commercial basis.
IMPROVED COOKSTOVES ICS
- Biomass ICS that at least save 40% in fuel consumption compared to traditional cookstoves
- E-Cooking stoves
- Credible warranty of at least 1 year
- ICS have to be submitted for laboratory testing
- Comply with minimum production standard requirements
- Sold to end-consumers on a commercial basis.
PRODUCTIVE USE OF ENERGY PUE
- Solar system and appliances sold for commercial, agricultural and other businesses
- An appliance is broadly defined as any type of electric equipment that makes use of an off-grid renewable energy source to generate income.
- Appropriate Quality Certification (Lighting Global, other recognised certifications or GIZ approval);
- Type of Battery (all but lead acid battery, Pb) and Nickel Cadmium)
- Credible warranty of at least 1 year
