FASER aims to strengthen the value chain and distribution of renewable energy (RE) technologies in Mozambique, promoting broader and more sustainable adoption of these solutions across the country. The initiative directly contributes to the efforts of the Government of Mozambique to achieve universal energy access by 2030.

The Fund promotes the dissemination of high-quality energy technologies in peri-urban and rural off-grid areas, as well as improving the affordability of these technologies for women. In addition, it seeks to expand access to reliable, modern, and safe energy for particularly vulnerable populations.

The LNOB+ Reverse Action Window aims to encourage private companies to disseminate high-quality technologies to ensure energy access for vulnerable households living in urban, peri-urban, and rural areas across all provinces of Mozambique. Eligible technologies include: Solar Home Systems (SHS), productive use of energy (PUE) technologies, improved cookstoves (ICS), and higher-tier cookstoves.

This call for proposals seeks to reach specific groups such as rural households, single-parent households, resettled families, internally displaced persons, host communities, elderly people, and persons with disabilities. Eligible applicants include suppliers and distributors of decentralized renewable energy technologies. Individual entrepreneurs, companies, associations, cooperatives, partnerships and/or consortia between companies, as well as national and international NGOs engaged in the commercial sale of eligible technologies to end-consumers, may apply.
